Fire suppression
systems are a business' first line of defense against devastating
fire damage. They provide excellent protection against loss of property
and life automatically, 24 hours a day.
Auto-Tech Fire
Systems designs, installs and services many types of fire suppression
systems for commercial, industrial and institutional applications.
We can custom design a system that will provide optimum protection
for your specific facilities and hazards.
TYPES
OF FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
FM-200
These types of suppressions systems fill the room
with an inert gas that puts out the fire without damage to equipment
or occupants. It is one of the more sophisticated means of fire
suppression and is best for facilities with delicate electronics,
such as computers or telephone switching equipment. We design, install
and service highly dependable FM-200 fire suppression systems for
all types of businesses.
HALON
This is the predecessor of the FM-200 system
and is used for the same types of applications. The difference is
that it uses Halon, a gas which has an ozone depletion factor to
it. For that reason, it is currently being phased out. We can still
service, maintain, and provide support for Halon fire suppression
systems.
DRY
CHEMICAL This type of system releases
a dry, powdery substance and is an economical choice for facilities
where cleanup is not a major concern, such as storage areas, paint
booths, hydraulic equipment rooms, or furnace rooms. The detection
equipment for dry chemical suppression systems can range from simple
thermal detection to more elaborate electronic systems. These systems
are usually pre-engineered, making them less expensive for us to
install than some other types of suppression systems.
LIQUID
CHEMICAL Primarily used in restaurant
and cooking applications, liquid chemical systems are a cost effective
choice which uses a substance similar to a strong soap to suppress
the fire. This type of system is required by building and fire codes
and insurance underwriters for many kitchen facilities. We install
and service liquid chemical fire suppression systems from top manufacturers.
CO2
These types of systems use carbon dioxide, an inert,
colorless, and odorless gas which cannot support life. For that
reason, CO2 systems are mostly used in heavy industrial applications,
such as heat treating plants, printing presses, and assembly line
manufacturing. These sophisticated systems use electronic detection
equipment. We can design, install and service a CO2 fire suppression
system specific to your needs.
FIRE
SUPPRESSION SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Following some
basic code requirements can help avoid false alarms, dangerous situations
and costly fines. Call us at (330) 762-3343 for the best, professional
service on any of these:
- Suppression
systems are required by building and fire code in many places
of business.
- In
many types of businesses, if you have a fire suppression system,
you may not be required to have a fire alarm system.
- Fire
code requires that suppression systems be serviced twice per year.
